Chapter 3

I think the author's writing style is authentic because it doesn't really sound like a story it sounds like it's coming straight from the author's mind. The Canadian seems like a very shady character because of the way Chappie described him as a big gross looking guy and he's walking around with a little girl and seems like he's raping her or sexually exploiting her. I feel bad for the girl because she seems sick or on drugs or something ( not normal) and she's with the big creepy guy that is flirting with Chappie. The way he's treated by his step father and the security guard makes him seem like he's helpless. He has no one really on his side and they have all the power over him. It's kind of depressing because he's only 14 and he has no one and he's in all kinds of trouble.

Chapters 1-2

I think the xmas fantasy reveals that Chappie really wants to be with his family for the holidays. He talks about how he bought them gifts and they were very happy and even Ken called him "son". Chappie's mom and step dad didn't buy him anything and feel guilty but Chappie is quite okay with it. He's just happy to be with them. He might feel a bit of shame if he went back home like he couldn't get along by himself so he had to come home and maybe that's why he didn't. My first reaction to the book was this kid seems to have a hard life with his parents divorcing and having a step dad he doesn't really like that much. It automatically caught my interest because I want to know how he turns out. I feel that Chappie is a rebellious teenager but still wants to be with his family because of the xmas fantasy theme.
